Terms

Buying a boatshare through Parker Boatshare Pty. Ltd. means you can be sure of the integrity of the set up. We undertook a Private Ruling through the Australain Tax Office and commissioned Edmund So Bsc, ACA, CA, LLM (Corporate & Tax Laws) FTIA, JP and E & A Lawyers to oversee the legal Set up set up of our Trust and ownership documentation.

When you buy a boatshare you buy a unit in a Trust. The Trust owns the boat. So you and the other unit holders own the boat. For example our 275 is owned by the Parker Boatshahre 1 Trust, which is owned by 12 unit holders: hence 12 boatsharers.

Our Trust is thankfully very simple. The main terms by which you own, use, buy and sell your boatshare are detailed in 'Schedule 1' and 'Schedule 2' of the Trust documentation. These are both available to those who Register.

Costs

To own a Boatshare you must pay 3 costs;

Bond / Deposit – deposit that is held as insurance bond until you sell your share. Currently $2,000.

Boatshare Price – cost of purchasing your share in the boat. Once only e.g. $14,450 for the 275.
Service Fee – paid quarterly (every 3 months) in advance. Covers all boats service, maintenance and management.

What you get...

Your boat will be registered, insured, monitored and fully managed with regular and appropriate maintenance, cleaning, servicing and anti-fouling. It will be kept on a berth at a marina. You will have access to the marina facilities. Some boats will be protected by SeaTow coverage. You will be trained on how to operate and manoeuvre your boat.

Using your boat...
The biggest compromise you make in Boatshare is access to your boat at key times: Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays, etc. Parker invented the Ticketing system to address this point. The Ticketing system is different to all the other systems. It was Voted the system most boatsharers would most like to use. [Voted on by Parker users after 2 years of use.]
BOATING ALLOWANCE - 52 ticket every year for each full year. 1 ticket allows you 1 session on the boat.
The tickets are released across the year in quarters:
12 tickets per quarter. X 4 = 48
Plus 2 wild tickets and 2 Holiday tickets.
48 + 2 + 2 = 52. (equates to once a week)
NOTE: Not one sharer has used their entire allowance.
Sessions – times each ticket can be used. Allows more use of Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays.
